JWest Campership Program

JWest: The JWest Campership Program, funded by the Jim Joseph Foundation, is a targeted incentive program administered by FJC.  JWest aims to give middle school-aged campers who reside in 13 western states—Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming—the summer of a lifetime at one of 20 Jewish camps in the western United States.

The program collaborates with local community organizations to target potential campers and offers up to $2500 over two years to attend a western nonprofit Jewish camp. In between summers, campers benefiting from the JWest Campership Program are encouraged to participate in Jewish activities in their community or region. Using camp as a starting point, FJC hopes to strengthen these Jewish communities with a new generation of young, engaged Jews.
