JWest Campership Program

Now in its fifth year, the JWest Campership Program, funded by the Jim Joseph Foundation, is a targeted incentive program administered by FJC.  After summer 2011, this grant is available to returning middle school-aged campers who previously participated in the program and reside in the 13 western states—Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

The JWest Campership Program has been successful in reaching less affiliated populations, including Russian-speaking and Israeli families. In between summers, campers benefiting from the JWest Campership Program are encouraged to participate in Jewish activities in their community or region. Using camp as a starting point, FJC hopes to strengthen these Jewish communities with a new generation of young, engaged Jews.
