Campership Incentive Program

Through a bold partnership between local organizations—including federations, religious and youth movements, camps, and foundations—and FJC, Jewish summer camps welcomed thousands of first-time campers since this program’s inception in 2006. Together, we drove demand for Jewish summer camp through financial incentives and changed consumer behavior.

The premise is simple: The Campership Incentive Program uses a monetary incentive to tip the scales in favor of Jewish summer camp. With  $1,000 for first-time campers (and $750 for second-timers in some communities), parents are more inclined to try Jewish summer camp over other summertime activities. Once new campers experience the magic of a Jewish summer camp experience, they’re likely to return again and again.

CIP helps local Jewish organizations get the program off the ground by providing seed funding as part of a matching fund model.
