Launch Pad: The Fellowship for Jewish Camp and Community Leaders
The Launch Pad Fellowship, made possible by the generosity of the Morningstar Foundation, focuses upon enhancing the supervisory and leadership skills of former counselors returning to camp in a supervisory capacity for a unit, specialty-area or all-camp programming position. By providing financial incentives and advanced professional development training to a camp's supervisory cohort, this Fellowship seeks to create the strong Jewish professionals and leaders of today and tomorrow.
Launch Pad Fellows will meet with a wide variety of experts in leadership development, Jewish education and management/supervision training to learn about:
- Best practices in Jewish values-based leadership
- Basic supervision and management skills appropriate to entry and mid-level leadership camp positions
- Exploring one's self as a Jewish leader and self-advocacy
The Launch Pad Fellowship consists of two main components: a four-day training seminar in May and implementation and guidance during camp.
Launch Pad Fellows will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the summer. 2009 Fellows receive an additional $500 incentive stipend if they return to camp in 2010.
