The Foundation for Jewish Camp sees as part of its agenda stimulating the growth of programs that reach out to the entire Jewish community regardless of denomination, affiliation, non-affiliation, inter-marriage, race, or sexual orientation. The field of Jewish camp will take the lead in engaging Jews who may fall outside the scope of the community's affiliation radar, and be able to truly welcome them into a community that embraces their needs.
The Foundation for Jewish Camp along with professionals from Jewish Life Network/Steinhardt Foundation, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, The Circle of Service Foundation and The Samuel Bronfman Foundation has convened a taskforce to investigate how Jewish camps can engage Jewish families of different backgrounds and connections. The initial findings will help shape pilot outreach programs for Jewish summer camps.
